Who is your competition? Do you watch what they do and react accordingly?
It would be silly not to do that, right?
Maybe…. Maybe not.
If you see your competition as an entity you need to “kick the crap out of”, you might need to analyze what you’re doing… reacting is not leading.
If you see your competition as something that compels you to perform better, then perhaps you are on the right path…
When you see your competition reacting to what you do, you now have the leadership position. There is no such thing as a leader until there is a follower.
“reacting is not leading”
If the reaction is adaption to what your competition is doing and you do it better, then they’re just a leader in the idea and then the adapter is the leader in the implementation. You can be a leader of ideas or performance. I like both at the same time but between the two, I would take performance. Not sure who had the very first coupon site or rebate site but competition might have come along and “kick the crap out of” them.
I like tim’s path. I do not react to everthying my competition does. I notice their moves but stay committed to my path which i think is the right one.
