Awards aplenty. First I am nominated. Then revenews.com brings home the Gold. Coooool. Spent some of Wednesday in Manhattan. Bought a gift certificate at the Gap. Initially, I was pleasantly surprised that there were actual people, other than employees, in the store. Then I noticed that as a result of this week’s deluge, there was a nice size leak in the ceiling. Fortunately, there was a large garbage bin strategically positioned to catch the falling drops. If I were rolling in dough, I’d send them a check to help pay for the roofing repairs.
An anonymous comment informed me that Gap Inc.’s new online shoe company, piperlime.com, is looking to hire an affiliate manager. Supposedly, there is a job listing on this site, though I cannot locate it. It might be necessary to sign up for the Yahoo group. While we’re on the job topic; spotted something that looked interesting…an online company is looking to hire someone to blog for their site. It’s a paid job too. Imagine that; getting paid to blog! Anyways, if you know anyone who is a blog-fiend, this might be a good part-time opportunity. FYI, the same company is also hiring an affiliate manager & an email marketing manager.
In yesterday’s WSJ, there was a full page ad promoting MSN search. In general, I am starting to fall in love with the journal although the Post remains my first true love. FYI, on Tuesday, I emailed Richard Johnson from Page Six, asking him to intern for Page Six, for free (!) during the summer. His replied “sorry, we don’t hire interns“. So then I replied to his reply: “np, then hire me full time“. So far, he has yet to respond to my response…
Anyone ever use Google Finance? There’s a hot feature, whereby they pick up blog posts pertaining to the stock you are checking up. However, I am not exactly sure how this works…My Gap post got picked up. My Amazon post also got picked up. But my latest Amazon.com post did not make it to the front page of (AMZN) Google Finance. Why is that?
Finally, as Americans celebrate our Independence on July 4th, Toysrus.com will be celebrating their own emancipation, tomorrow, on July 1st. Best of luck!
