YPN - Switching over from AdSense …. Maybe

September 28th, 2005 by Scott Polk

I was recently accepted into YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network) Beta and decided to test it out myself - see how it compares to AdSense. I have switched out a few sites and will be testing it over the next few weeks to see how it pans out. So far, YPN has a higher CTR, higher Conversion and higher Revenue. Within the first few days, I would have to say I have been very pleased with 3-4 times what AdSense normally yields.

This is a very unscientific test, but I will be happy to publish my thoughts on it in a few weeks … we shall see how it holds up.

Scott,

have you found the quality of advertisers to be better? we do well with google, but the quality is nearing gutter levels

My Google ads were at gutter levels as well on these test sites, but I can happily say the quality is better … currently, the ads appear to be more relevant and are from better advertisers. There are some pages that seem a bit off, but overall the experience is refreshing :)
