I had the pleasure of hanging out with Gary Vaynerchuck of WineLibraryTV on the Monday of Affiliate Summit. Not only is he a great guy, but his enthusiasm for doing business online is black-plauge like contagious (although it doesn’t involve fleas… at least not that I know of).
Anyway, with statements like “a lot of you are building the brand of people that are ahead of you” from a speech he gave last Tuesday in Orlando (after flying out on the red-eye from Vegas), Gary’s got some good advice for online marketers that we should listen to as the web continues to evolve and enforce the primacy of branding…
Right on, Sam.
One of the many unexpected pleasures of ASW was meeting Gary.
I would recommend a new path, new brand and a virtual enema for alot of affiliate marketing as it stands. Actually you can put most marketing in there and advertising as well. Oh wait Public Relations industry…I think much of it has gotten warped…
On Gary- I did not get too meet him but saw his tweet and video- yes he is contagious. He might look into publishing on demand for his tee-shirt needs too. Publishing on Demand is a good place for affiliate marketing to intersect with content- COULD BE.

Awesome. Gary is the man. Wonder what he’s going to do with Affiliatelists.com he bought at the auction?
Maybe I’ll bring it all back around and buy a bunch of wine at Wine Library (just 5 or so miles from me) with the money I made on the domain.

That guy is smart. SO many people dont think of themselves as a brand it is ridiculous.
