AOL’s Platform-A Names Lynda Clarizio as New President

March 10th, 2008 by Sam Harrelson

As part of the continuing consolidation of AOL’s “Platform-A” group, the current President of Advertising.com has been named as the new head of Platform-A. I had the pleasure to meet Lynda at the Affiliate Summit and she seemed very in touch and interested in the affiliate world. It will be good to have an ally in such a position.

Lynda Clarizio Named President of AOL’s Platform-A: “AOL today named Lynda Clarizio President of Platform-A, as part of the consolidation and integration plan for AOL’s industry-leading advertising business. Clarizio has been President of Advertising.com, one of the key businesses that makes up Platform-A. In this new, expanded role, Clarizio will lead the industry’s largest online advertising network, which offers the most comprehensive suite of marketing solutions powered by the Web’s best advertising technologies. She will report to AOL President and Chief Operating Officer Ron Grant.

Platform-A offers advertisers best-in-class solutions that leverage AOL’s premier consumer brands like AIM, Moviefone, MapQuest, TMZ, AOL.com and more; TACODA’s audience insights & behavioral targeting; and Advertising.com’s industry-leading reach across multiple networks, including display, mobile, video and search.”

Pay close attention to the Advertising.com group in the affiliate and video space and watch what AOL does higher up the food chain. They are consolidating their resources and really turning the company into an online advertising/marketing powerhouse that is able to compete with the likes of Google in the display ads business.

That has implications for all of us in the online rev generating business.
