ReveNews – What’s This Baby Got Under The Hood?
This is the first entry in what will be a new blog here at ReveNews about what else? ReveNews, of course. Written by Jim Kukral, Publisher.
Thank you, Wayne. I feel like a teenager who was just given the keys to Dad’s red Ferrari. Well, green and yellow in this instance. I will do my best to not drive it into the lake or off of a bridge. But I promise you one thing, it’s going to be driven as fast and as far as I can take it. Fasten your seatbelts.
I always thought it would be fun to write the forward for a magazine. You know, where they waste a page of space in the front of the magazine talking about the issue at hand? So you can imagine my chagrin when I first signed on to take over as Publisher for ReveNews. I was finally going to be able write that useless letter!
However, seconds later I came to the realization that I’m not taking over a magazine at all, far from it. What was I thinking? ReveNews isn’t a magazine; it’s a blog. And more importantly, I’m coming on as the publisher, not the editor. There won’t be much editing going on around these parts. Guidance and direction, sure, but editing, nah.
Plus, let’s face it; the voice of ReveNews will not necessarily come from me, but from the passionate bloggers that graciously choose to use ReveNews to broadcast their expertise to the world.
But, I really want to write that letter. So darn it, I’m going to live my dream. Here goes nothing?
Dear ReveNews Reader,
Welcome to our blog. That’s right, a blog.
- Not a blog network; we won’t be writing only for Adsense clicks, although we won’t mind trying to earn a buck or two incidentally
- Not a trade publication; we’re never going to be that boring, I hope
- Not a political vehicle; aren’t there enough of those already?
- Not a tabloid; we’re not going to mention Paris Hilton’s private life or Lindsay Lohan’s weight loss anytime soon?probably, unless they start selling stuff online
Nope, none of those things. We’re a group of experienced business leaders with a passion for the online revenue industry, and a desire to blog about it. Whether it’s about performance marketing, ecommerce, spyware, search, or any of our other existing or soon to be new channels, it’s always going to be fresh, insightful and most importantly, useful to our readers.
Things are going to change at ReveNews over the next few months. What exactly? I’d list everything that is planned but then you’d hold me to it and it’s my first day. So let me just say for a fact that the following is going to happen.
- A new look and feel for our entire website
- The addition of spirited and insightful authors
- New topic channels and the revision of a few existing ones
- More content, more often? More conversations
I look forward to sharing this new blog with you about ReveNews moving forward. Your feedback and guidance on this journey will be graciously accepted. In fact, I will be posing questions to you at every turn. So, are you ready for your first one?
Please answer the following question by leaving a comment below.
Question: Should we stick with the Green/Yellow color scheme or not?
More tomorrow, but now, I’ve got a date with some some comment spammers.
Regards,
Publisher, ReveNews
