MySpace Passes 1 Billion User Mark!

Yesterday it said 107 million, but today MySpace is at 1,000,000,008.

What happened? Either everyone in China signed up overnight, or somebody on staff fell asleep with their finger on the 0.

But now the question needs to be asked. How long will it be, if ever, before MySpace really does in fact get 1 billion users?

    823 views out of 1 billion. That conversion rate is worse than the v1a3ra spammers :)

    I would just be happy if people here in Arkansas used Criagslist :)

    The total number of Internet users hasn’t even eclipsed 1 billion yet… MySpace will fade long before they come close to that number.

    The real question is which website (if any) will be the first to achieve 1 billion users.

    The Internet Usage Stats site you cite reports these numbers:
    * World Population: 6,499,697,060
    * Internet Use: 1,043,104,886
    * Internet penetration: 16.0 %

    The site also says: "Internet usage information comes from data published by Nielsen//NetRatings, by the International Telecommunications Union, by local NICs, and other other reliable sources."

    I still find this number non-credible. Maybe they're still counting Internet connected soda machines…

    After reading around I would say it's pretty much on point. If you scroll down they list the other reliable sources and if you click on the continents/countries you get even further breakdown.

    For example Asia with 380+ million:
