Menschenquellen – Human Sources
I just watched an interesting movie that I would like to share.
It’s the recording of a demo by the German computer group “Farbrausch” titled “fr-minus-09: human sources”. The demo won 3rd place at the TUM – The Ultimate Meeting ’07 demo competition. TUM was held in Karlsruhe, Germany, December 27-29, 2007.
You can download the actual demo via FTP from scene.org to execute and watch it in high resolution, if you have a modern Windows PC with a graphics card that supports 3d acceleration. The demo is rendered in real-time and much smaller in size than a video (even video in low resolution).
Credits: Visuals and music by JCO, additional effects by Chaos and RYG. The demo was created using the .werkkzeug3 by Chaos, Fiver2, Gizmo and RYG of Farbrausch.
Here is also the direct link to the Video at YouTube.
It is in German with English subtitles, not always translated correctly (on purpose).
The general joke and criticism is not 100% clear to me. It starts with talking about working from home and personal freedom etc., but that shifts to applying to work for a company, which is an investment business (based on the German talk), but shows Google.com in the subtitles.
Everything is branded as a Chinese business, with additional closed captioning for the hearing impaired, describing wrong what music is playing.
It seems to me that it does not make sense as a whole and that this was deliberate. It seems like a collection of snippets based on spam, censorship, exploit and lies of business on the internet from a global perspective.
It’s at least entertaining – which you cannot say about most critical publications that are out there on the Internet. Enjoy.
