Rumormill: Diller Eying DCLK & Amazon’s Move Into Video

Rumors are flying among financial types that Barry Diller (fresh from announcing plans to acquire Ask Jeeves) is eying DoubleClick.

In related rumorville news, I hear that Performics CEO, Jamie Crouthamel, flew the coop.

aQuantive’s CEO, Brian McAndrews, said that these acquisitions are being driven by strength not desperation. He suggests most of the companies being bought are profitable… and those that aren’t making money are small enough so as not have to a large negative financial impact on the buyer.

Changing channels, Amazon.com is looking for a Content Acquisition Manager for its digital video unit. Hmmm….
