France: Never Right in Choosing to Fight or Give In

The French chose to side with the Germans after the Maginot Line proved worthless. The US Army came marching in, drove out the Germans, ened Vichy France and then rebuilt the country with the Marshall Plan.

When to fight and when to join someone who can help you… Don’t ask the French for help with that one.

The Telegraph reports that the French governement plans to build a eurocentric search engine to compete with Google Print. Brilliant!

If French President Jaques Chirac really wants to preserve the great works of Europe, how can he best do so? Is it to build new technology and get all of the countries of Europe together to work on a single library? Or do you partner with one of the leading technology companies in the world and give them reasonable restrictions and guidance on how you would want to see the feat achieved?

Then again, there may be time for the French government to stop this Amercican Internet fad and bring back Minitel.
