Datafeeds for Shopping Comparison Engines Simplified

Much to my surprise, one of my entries that received the most comments from friends was about Brian Smith’s ComparisonEngines.com. It was just an informative piece about a blog I think is good and I wrote no in-depth analysis or strongly argued points. To me it showed the lack of information on this powerful vertical search channel and the vacuum Brian’s blogs fills.

Then last week, the beta of Brian’s new datafeed aggregator product – SingleFeed– came up in an IM chat with Stephanie Schwab, the VP at Converseon. She mentioned in passing “Brian’s new product is amazing, it save me tons of hours worth of work.” Given the response to my last blog about one of Brian’s projects, he new produce seemed worth pointing out too.

SingleFeed simplifies data feed management for theses shopping comparison engines:

  • Google Base
  • Shopzilla
  • Shopping.com
  • Yahoo! Shopping
  • PriceGrabber
  • NexTag
  • Become
  • Smarter.com
  • Performics, Channel Intelligence, Channel Advisor and other offer this service targeted at large merchants, but smaller merchants are sometimes priced out of this service. SingleFeed fills that niche. So if you are looking for a way to optimize the shopping comparison engines at a reasonable price, this product might be worth a look. You can find out more here.

Thanks for the tip Stephanie. Good luck with the product Brian!
