That Silly Ol’ Google
Well I had grandiose plans for my first post at Revenews but that all went out the window when I did a search for an area code (561). One of the things we in the tech community do well is to not take ourselves too seriously. One of the biggest and most public way this sense of humor is displayed is when Google and Yahoo play around with their logos to celebrate the holidays. Fellow Revenews blogger Adam Viener has done a great job of cataloging these changes on his personal blog, Wiseaff. He noted the changes the big three did during Thanksgiving here. Today when searching for an area code (561) in Google, I noticed they were having a little bit of fun by placing little snowmen between the natural and paid listings instead of the normal black line. While it brought a bit of a smile to my face, it made me think about how those snowmen impacted the ads running nearby.
