Vlog-terview: Loren Feldman of 1938Media.com

January 4th, 2007 by Jim Kukral

I’m inventing, I think, a new form of online interview that I’m calling “Vlog-terviews”. Get it? “Vlogs” (video blogs) plus “Interviews”. Ok, maybe it needs a new name, I’ll work on it. A Vlog-terview is when you interview someone by sending them questions and asking them to respond via video. (Note: i was going to lead into the Vlog-terview with my own video, but my camera decided to get the flu today).

For my first Vlog-terview, I enlisted the help of Loren Feldman of 1938media.com, who if you haven’t seen his vlog yet, you should really go check it out. Loren is pushing the boundaries of entertaining (mostly) online social media through his vlog. He is a prime example of how easy it really is to make a name for youself very quickly using new web techniques. It also helps that he’s funny, sometimes.

I asked Loren 5 simple questions, and got back 5, slightly snarky, simple answers. What did I expect eh? All in all, there’s not much meat to this first Vlog-terview, but hey, it’s the first one. Thanks for being my first Loren, I’ll always remember you. :o By the way Loren, it’s pronounced “koo-kral”.

Would you like to be Vlog-terviewed? Contact me.

That’s funny, Jim, late last week I thought of the same exact idea. I thought, if I did this vlog interview thing, Loren would be the first, too.

I figured someone else had already done it. Must be something in the air.

Jane, how much actual money have you made from Agloco so far? Care to share?

What you’re doing is cheapening your blog by promoting things like that. It’s the easy way out of really trying to monetize.

Not trying to be rude, but ask yourself this question. Are my readers expecting better from me? I argue that by promoting items like that, you’re cheapening your brand for some short term “revenue”. I say revenue in quotes because with Agloco, you don’t get money, you get stock or something.

ROTFL!

In the spirit of blog tag, I actually hold an armature radio (HAM) license and LEARNED Morse code when I was something like 16 and, concurrently, enrolled in a NRA program introducing kids to guns/promoting gun safety via local police departments (I’ll bet Shawn was too come to think of it). I think that code is spelling out a bad word… not sure.

I ROTFL because Jim… you hit it on the head, my man. He’s TOTALLY Anthony. Shame on Loren for not knowing him. The guy’s got the best show on cable IMO.

Maybe “VLog-IV” and “VLog-IV’ing” … aehm on a second thought, NO – not cool.

The abbreviation “iv” is already taken for something that can not be associated (most of the times) with what you want to do. hehe.
