PayPerPost.com Takes Splogs To The Next Level

October 2nd, 2006 by Jim Kukral

It seems that PayPerPost has landed some VC money to fill their coffers. Yes, our favorite company that pays you to blog, and isn’t shy about it, is ready to help even more bloggers make even more money by telling them what to blog about.

My feelings on this are well known, so rather than discuss that all over again, let’s look forward. So I did some searching and found the world’s first PerPerPost created shill blog. Check it out at http://paymetoblog.blogspot.com/.

Welcome to the PayPerPost Pays Me To Blog, Blog. This blog was made to make money from PayPerPost.com. They pay me to blog about what their advertisers need blogged, so I’m going to make a sweet bunch of moola just writing about things offered in their system.

Why not I say? I mean, if we’re going to get paid to blog, why not have blogs built specifically to make money? I don’t know about you, but I enjoy reading blogs that are written based upon what an advertiser needs to tell me.

I highly suggest you visit http://paymetoblog.blogspot.com/ for some interesting reading.

Update: The scobleizer nails it regarding PayPerPost.com.

This blog is not part of our program. Per our terms of service we do not accept blogs that exist soley for making money.

Ah, the Drama, the passion, the anger, the venom. Don’t you just love a good Tabloid style news story! Fantastic stuff.

For the real scoop on how PayPerPost works, and why it is not in fact an evil, get rich quick, ‘lets pollute the blogosphere once and for all’ scheme, check out http://peterwright.blogspot.com/2006/09/payperpost-fud.html.

It’s all kinda funny though – I remember when Google was evil and not the darling wunderkind the world now perceives them to be.

I think this could be successful and useful if they implement some type of blogger rating or trust system based on user review.

Gee, Pete, that link is no longer valid. And besides, who says Google is no longer evil, hehe.

Pete – good of you to disclose the fact that you’re from PayPerPost in your comment. ;)
