If you haven’t noticed, you haven’t been around enough! What I mean is that I’ve been busy making a bunch of changes around the site these days. Specifically, I’ve changed the background of the site from green-ish to white with faded pinstripes. I’ve also removed the Google Adsense ads and replaced them with a new internal promotional banner.
Today I added a new Google search to our home page allowing you to dig deep inside the thousands of archived pages in ReveNews just in case you needed to find something specific and didn’t have time to look. I’ve also enabled a sponsorship on the home page using Adbrite. I suggest that you get it while it’s available, because the price is set low for now.
You may have also noticed that I alphabetized the authors and added a feature bar at the top of the page above the logo. Please check that area for new announcements and promotions from time to time.
The new ReveNews design has been sketched and we are currently in discussion with several designers that we think can create a truly unique and powerful design that is worthy of our industry. More on that in the future, but if you have a designer that you can recommend please email me. I’d also be interested in hearing more about blog layouts that you like and why.
Finally, please check out our good friend Duncan Riley at Blog Herald, where he posts a list of the blog networks that exist today. We made the list, despite our current state, which Duncan agrees that it’s a design issue, not a content one.
