My Super Ex-Girlfriend

I’m going way off topic today but it is the weekend and we can all use a break from the news and business.

My friend, Don Payne had his first movie released this month. Go see My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

I saw it last night (babysitting problems stopped us from seeing it last weekend). I laughed. A lot.

Don has been writing for “The Simpsons” for the last eight years. I hear from friends that gig is the best in television. It helps that Don is a funny guy. So, as you can imagine, Super Ex is funny.

Don is a long-time comic book fan. His love of comics helped him create a new kind of superhero. While Superman may have the hots for Lois Lane and may try to protect her, G Girl takes vulnerability to a new level. Don manages to throw in some nice twists on the superhero genre. If you saw “Superman Returns” and thought that there is nothing new under the sun that powers him, go see Super Ex to see a new kind of superhero.
