I am wondering how any of those tools handles the search engines T&C ?
No scraping is allowed and as much as I know there is no API for that, I believe manually is not an option, so how they do it?

Hi Dave,

I read through your PoachMark explanation page http://brandverity.com/poachmark/

It covers pretty much the same things that I had in mind to check for.

However, I included also some sort of follow up/tracking feature with status updates and repeating offender detection (also something that is not that easy to keep track of. Most AM's terminate 2nd or 3rd time offenders and not right after the first violation)

Furthermore, I had more service levels in mind, starting as low as maybe $20 per month and then gradually increase fees as either the number of keywords to monitor, the check frequency, the geo location diversity and/or number of search engines to check increase. The needs are different, depending on the brand size in terms of geographic recognition and popularity within the market where it operates.

Your base fee is already in a range that I consider the mid to upper tier and you only cover the largest three PPC SE.. no second-tier at all. How often do you check for each keyword, considering that you already cover day-parting and geo-location-exclusion by default?

Mark:

AdGooroo STARTS at $99/month. I said that there are services out there that can do the stuff that I mentioned, but that those services do it mostly as a by-product where the main product itself is meant for something else and usually in a price range that is only affordable by companies with a large advertising budget (the folks who need the main product/service and not the by-product that the AM needs).

Dave:

Sure, why not. You can call me anytime after noon PST. My direct phone is not listed on my contact page, but you can use it to make initial contact where I then can send you the direct #.

Carsten,

BrandVerity's PoachMark service just opened the doors to its alpha program (it was in closed alpha for a 4 months), and is moving into Beta by the end of the month.

We provide pretty much exactly what you describe, along with a few other pretty useful features (such as pulling out the affiliate id of the advertiser).

While initially targeted at slightly organizations, we've been having discussions about what to include in a less-expensive product.

If you'd be willing to spend 10-15 minutes on the phone with me? I'd love to bounce a few ideas off of you and get your thoughts on what we should include in the offering. Please drop me a note if you'd be interested.

Hi Andrew,

I'd say the most difficult part is the use of proxy (if you don't happen to have servers all over the country or the world and have to rely on free or paid third party proxy services in order to have enough geographical coverage and low predictability from where and when checks are conducted. Getting some information about the AdWords advertiser must be possible, other services provide that info too and I don't think that they all have some special agreement and access to Google Data, nor scrape and worse, "click" any of the ads to find out more about the advertiser.

The other stuff is pretty standard. Unique are some details about what you do with the data and how you combine the set of standard stuff in a way that makes it very focused and specialized for the task. But this makes it also possible to offer the service at a cost that the targeted customer group can and is willing to pay for it.
