I am just kidding and made it up just now. It is certainly destructive and not healthy. The MP3 format is actually not a classic software patent so there are parts that warrant a patent for the creators. What is messed up though is the process how patents and patent law is used and abused for plain and simple extortion. It's not about right and wrong and intellectual property and months of 20hour days painstakingly developing a new great thing that will move mankind forward. The way the lawsuit was done follows the one of software patents so I thought that it makes sense to point to that as well to understand the bigger picture here. $1.5 Billion sounds much, but it is actually only the tip of a gigantic mobster, aeh I mean iceberg hehe.
