Win One of Two Passes for Affiliate Summit West 2008

Ian Lee from Ads-Links.com gives away two free full conference passes to Affiliate Summit West 2008, which is held between February 24, and 26, 2007 at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Each pass has a value of almost $1,000 and you can get one of two, free of charge, curtsey of Mr. Lee.

The rules are simple

  • You have to be an active and serious affiliate (see Ian’s blog for details)
  • Have a blog that can do outgoing track-backs to ping Ian’s Blog
  • Write a post about why you should get one of the passes
  • Link to Ian’s blog from the post with an anchor text for the link that makes sense
  • No cheating
  • Do it before December 21, 2007 5:00 PM PST

Ian spelled things out in much greater detail, but this is basically, what it boils down to.
This is specifically interesting for affiliates who never went to an Affiliate Summit or any other affiliate marketing related tradeshow.

Why does Ian do this? Linkbait. At least that is how it looks like. He will gain relevant inbound links from you guys in exchange for the chance to win a hefty prize. His trackbacks are nofollow’ed so he will not return the favor and pass “link juice” back to you, but that is the general idea behind it. I say: “Why not?” It is a nice way of linkbaiting. I suggest not to “nofollow” your links to Ian’s blog, although this is not explicitly prohibited by Ian’s rule (yet). You might want to double-check that before you head of writing your post with this idea in mind. My suggestion is not to do that though. It would not be nice and uncalled for. I didn’t do this in my post either, although I did not enter the contest.

Note: The trackback URL to Ians post is http://www.ads-links.com/index.php/ians-blog-contest-prizes-worth-1898-2-free-affiliate-summit-passes.html/trackback and not just http://www.ads-links.com/index.php/ians-blog-contest-prizes-worth-1898-2-free-affiliate-summit-passes.html

Good Luck
