Little Typo – Big Effect

Angel from OnlineShoes.com contacted me today to offer support for the Affiliate Marketing Organization Initiative which I sparked this week. He pointed out a Typo in the Blog post, actually a mix up of words, which I even repeated in the email response to him. Thanks Angel, your parents gave you the right name :) .

I wondered why the response with name suggestions for an Affiliate Organization was less than I expected. I offered a PRIZE , actually PRIZES, for the person that suggests the name that is being picked by the preliminary judges and anybody who contacted (and contacts) me to be part of the vote.

I wrote PRICE instead of PRIZE. Nobody who wasn’t reading the complete post (who was, as long as it is) would have realized that simple suggestions of a name can yield in a $135 valued PRIZE, no matter if the person that makes the suggestion supports the initiative itself or not. The Prize is for the name suggestion and nothing more, no strings attached.

Because of the time lost and the currently running eComXpo, am I extending the Deadline to make suggestions for a Name of an Affiliate Marketing Organization until Friday, November 3rd, 2006 (next week).

Please send name suggestions to NewAMOrgInitiative@gmail.com and don’t post them public!. Multiple suggestions by one person are okay and will increase the chance to win.

The PRIZES
I offer a free eComXpo University pass for the upcoming winter semester (October 24th, 2006 to February, 24th 2007), a $99.95 value.

It also comes with an optional and free one year subscription to Revenue Magazine (digital format), a $25 value and Search Marketing Standard Magazine (print magazine), a $10 value.

If that offer is not good anymore at the time you register for any reason, let me know and I pay for the subscription.

That is a Total of $134.95, just for coming up with a name.

The ONLY Condition
The Domain Name of the Name or Abbreviation of the Suggested Title for the Organization must be available at least as .org and .com, but it would be the best, if it is available for all domain types (.net, .info, .mobi, .ws etc.).

The NEW Deadline
The new Deadline for Suggested Names and Abbreviations is Friday, November 3rd 2006, 12:00 pm PST (Pacific Time).

Regarding the selection of the winner, I’d like to repeat, that the people i mentioned in my previous post were only preliminary (initial, draft, first selection) and not a final list. The list of Volunteer judges increased by two: Angel Djambazov and Vinny Lingham contacted me and requested to be part of the vote.

Nobody provided a solution to allow a public vote and secure the domain names so far, so judges will have to do it as representative of the diverse types of individuals and companies that operate in this space.

After the Vote and the Domain purchase will we move to Step 2. and will slowly build a Affiliate Marketing Industry “Info Center” and also a communication center, which will be open to anybody that is interested and made available free of charge.

    If I understand you right and my lessons in Russian language at school were not a complete waste of time (Russian is close to Bulgarian), then will this Angel understand the following message:

    "My Titans will beat Cenarius' Arch Angels anytime. Pick any HOMM III Map you want!".

    Lets see if I am going to hear an echo hehe.

    I got Shawns comment. I missed changing the two words in the post though. She->He, her->him :)

    Changed it now.

    Its funny that there are no pictures to find and most text I found was avoiding any "sex" identifying words. I am checking if the one source that says "Man" is actually him. Out of Curiosity :)

    This reminds me…a former co-worker of mine put together a little website that predicts sex based on first names. It basically just uses census data to predict. I think he originally developed it to do some crude analysis on email lists, etc..
