Changes in Orbit- Standby
In case you missed it, and some may have, as Jimmy Daniels pointed out on this post that didn’t make it, that some entries are not making it to the front page. Apologies for this, but things are moving and getting broken in the movement.
Like this post from ReveNews’ Steward, call him what you will, Sam Harrelson.
The behind the scenes work that has been done here is finally paying some dividends on the side of ReveNews that you see. While it looks like nothing has happened, the large heavy stone in front of the tomb has been pushed away and we’re beginning to see glimpses of the revitalized ReveNews.
I’ll be making a more detailed post about all the happenings and when we can expect to see the newly refurbished ReveNews soon, but I wanted to share my excitement of the progress that has been made.
I’ll be in touch with the bloggers here about the changes in the next few days as well.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions, suggestions, feedback or ideas in the comments below, by email (sam@costpernews.com), via Skype (samharrelson), via Twitter (samharrelson), via … well, you get the point. I’m not hard to reach.
More soon!
Thus operation Tabula Rasa rumbles on…and the tomb stone is being pushed and objects in motion tend to stay in motion…
It is going to be different. I would not be taking a break from a rare vacation (shame on me) to pen this post if I had not watched Sam’s latest video (inspired by Scoble’s video response to Jeremiah Owyang) at Facebook and I became really excited- the means and tools are now maturing to do what we hoped might be done. This is one reason I took a break from Revenews- listening and exploring…Twittering, Jaiku, Pownce, Facebook, RSS, SMS, Video, Widgets, P2PTV (e.g Joost, Babelgum, etc), IPTV, VoIP, virtual worlds (there are many- Second Life, Entropia, There, and more)…Snowcrash IS coming…
Posts like this remind me why I am weary of our litigious society and the backlash that requires all the ridiculous labeling that holds us back and perhaps makes us look silly. The same kind of “you are too stupid to use this, or this is too stupid to use” label that tends to get put on technology, or concept of community, or even communications…
“Don’t use as a contraceptive device”
“Don’t use as a sanitizer”
“Do not put in eyes”
“Important: Read before opening.”
etc, etc…
Back to my quiet exploration and vacation…where blogs are no longer really “blogs”, page views are dying, new metrics are coming, and “social media” doesn’t really exist- it is all media- and we are all socializing around the media we create or that which is created for us.
Back to that vacation…
ADDENDUM: While I am here…rumor was I was “shot” by a .45 pistol and could not attend AffiliateSummit. There seem to be many pranksters at play and somehow I cannot escape strange lore. I was “hit” by a freak ricochet from .45 magnum while target shooting. It was that simple.
