With the recent launch of Info.com things are taking a dramatic turn that marketers should pay attention to. This search player is actively showcasing discount-focused affiliate sites front-and-center. Literally asking shoppers, “Are You Looking for [merchant name] Discounts?” and directing consumers to a page filled (exclusively) affiliate search returns this “meta shopping engine” of syndicated advertisements could end up creating a significant number of customers that purchase *only* when a discount can be applied… all while marketers have little, if any, control over how the search returns are presented.
